Making Factorylux Light Shades – the trailer

A short trailer showing how Factorylux® light shades are made. Large pieces of steel plate are guillotined into squares and then cut into circles. The steel discs are spun at high speed and the shade shape created by forcing the steel against a pattern using brass levers. Openings in the neck of the shade are laser-cut. After being cleaned, layers of enamel are applied as a glass suspension and the shade fired after each coat.
