Sparizioni vol. I è la prima fase di un progetto di animazione anomala, nel quale il tema dell’evanescenza viene trattato attraverso le avanguardie artistiche del Novecento. L’episodio, dedicato all’Espressionismo e alla Nuova Oggettività, parla un linguaggio visivo e musicale che vuole riecheggiarne e omaggiarne le atmosfere, fin nei suoi stessi elementi costitutivi. Le opere di Georg Grosz contaminano la scena, costruendo l’ambientazione e il contesto figurativo del film, dalla fisionomia del protagonista alla forma degli oggetti, dal trattamento delle luci alle inserzioni allucinatorie. Allo stesso modo interviene la colonna sonora, nata dalla rielaborazione e interpolazione di brani tratti da capolavori dell’espressionismo come il “Wozzeck” di Alban Berg. Un piccolo breviario di angoscia, dall’immaginario di un’estetica che non ha mai lasciato il presente.

Sparizioni vol. I (Disappearances) is the first phase of an anomalous animation project, where the theme of evanescence is treated through the 20th century avant-garde artists. This first episode, dedicated to Expressionism and New Objectivity, speaks a visual and musical language intended to echo and pay homage to these atmospheres, even in its own structure. The works of Georg Grosz contaminates the scene, building the setting and the figurative framework of the film, from the character features to the objects shape, from the lights treatment to the hallucinatory intervals. Also the soundtrack acts in the same way, thanks to the reworking and the interpolation of excerpts from expressionism masterworks like Alban Berg’s “Wozzeck”. A small breviary of anguish, coming from an aesthetics still influential nowadays.

Trama

Pioggia, squilli, interno notte. Un individuo muove i suoi pesanti passi verso il telefono. Un dialogo concitato, la cornetta abbassata violentemente, l’individuo ritorna sui suoi passi. Pioggia, squilli. L’individuo ritorna, ma la stanza rimpicciolisce, la conversazione è un istante. Pioggia, squilli. La stanza è ancora più stretta, lo spettro di un cadavere, l’individuo non risponde. È rimasto in un’altra stanza, seduto a terra, nella sua bocca si agita solo il tempo delle sveglie. Apparizioni improvvise, istantanee, inopportune, alludono per allucinazioni all’evoluzione tragica di una relazione sentimentale. Forse la stessa che si è esaurita con l’ultima telefonata. Poi, più nessuna risposta, il cadavere di un rapporto, la “sparizione” compiuta.

Plot
Rain, phone rings, interior night. Someone moves his heavy steps towards the phone. An excited dialogue, the handset roughly replaced and he goes back. Rain, phone rings. He comes again, but the room becomes smaller, the conversation lasts just a moment. Rain, phone rings. The room is even smaller, a ghost of a corpse, he doesn’t answer. He is still in another room, sitting on the floor, inside his mouth only the alarm clocks’ time is moving.
Sudden and inappropriate apparitions suggest in an hallucinatory way to the tragic evolution of a love affair. Maybe the same that ended with the last phone call. Hereafter, no more answers, the corpse of a relationship, the accomplished “disappearance”.
